The Lakeland Section – Vintage Motor Cycle Club

The Lakeland Section was founded in 1969 at Threlkeld by a passionate group of vintage motorcycle enthusiasts. Nearly 60 years on, we continue to celebrate and promote the enjoyment and use of Vintage and Classic motorcycles aged 25 years and over, organising a varied programme of events throughout Cumbria.

Alongside regular social gatherings at local cafés, we host a range of competitive and social runs throughout the year, including:

• The Metal Bridge Rally – for pre-1940 motorcycles and girder-fork machines.
• The Hesket Newmarket Weekend – open to all motorcycles aged 25 years and over.
• The South Lakes Mountain Weekend at Torver – open to all motorcycles aged 25 years and over.
• The Birthday Run – open to motorcycles of all ages owned by our members.
• The Westmorland and Mike Bond Memorial Runs – enjoyable social runs based around Milnthorpe and open to motorcycles of all ages owned by our members.

Whether you are a long-standing enthusiast or simply share an interest in vintage or classic motorcycles, the Lakeland Section offers a friendly welcome, a chance to meet like-minded people and plenty of opportunities to get out on the road.
